The Marketing and Corporate Relations Manager is responsible for marketing CAS’s continuing education programs, managing the CAS Society Partners Program, and individual meeting and seminar exhibitor/sponsor programs. The incumbent will also serve as the staff partner for the CAS Employers Advisory Council and its oversight committee.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Manage CAS marketing activities for the promotion of CAS continuing education opportunities to both internal and external audiences. Use data from the CAS membership database to segment the market and conduct targeted marketing programs for continuing education opportunities.
Manage the CAS Society Partners Program, including the tracking of partner commitments and expenditures. Develop and steward lasting relationships with corporate partners by demonstrating prompt follow-through, accountability, and timely and regular communication, with a goal of 100% retention.
Manage the promotion and sales of exhibit booths and sponsorship opportunities at CAS meetings and seminars.
Manage the on-site execution of exhibitor and sponsorship programs at CAS meetings and seminars, including travel, as necessary, to the events. Ensure fulfillment of sponsorship and exhibitor agreements. Assist with other on-site event logistics (e.g., ribbon bar, CAS exhibit, signage).
Act as key communication liaison between partners, sponsors, exhibitors, advertisers, and the CAS, including coordination with all internal staff with a stake in the relationships.
Maintain an active listing of partners, sponsors, and prospects for targeted outreach of exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities.
Work with the online services department to promote and manage the online CAS Career Center.
Manage print advertising in the bi-monthly Actuarial Review, and online advertising in the weekly e-mail bulletin.
Serve as staff partner for the CAS Employers Advisory Council and its oversight committee.
Coordinate the development and distribution of the CAS Annual Report.
Coordinate market research activities and use the results to help to identify relevant new marketing opportunities and develop strategies to strengthen CAS’s corporate relations.
Assist other operating areas of the CAS Office with marketing projects as needed (e.g., weekly e-mail bulletin, social media).
Required Experiences and Qualifications
Fully accredited Bachelor’s undergraduate degree with course work related to Marketing.
Three years work experience in marketing and sponsorships.
Demonstrable relationship management skills.
Proficient skills with e-mail communications and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Self-starter with ability to work independently.
Strong writing, editing, and project management skills.
Capacity to interface with senior-level business professionals.
