Excellent opportunity for an exceptional professional with extensive, executive-level experience leading all facets of the membership and communications functions for an IMO. The brand new role of Senior Vice President, Communications and Member Engagement was created to play a turnaround role in membership development, member engagement, and corporate communications at the American Pharmacists Association. Key objectives will be the execution of a new member affiliation model, analyzing and strengthening member engagement, leading an AMS transition, and integration of the Association’s marketing, communications and membership functions. Reporting to the EVP/CEO and sitting on the senior leadership team, this role offers potential for a dramatic impact on the success of the Association, its members and the pharmacy profession as a whole. Key Responsibilities - Define specific member engagement goals in collaboration with senior leadership and Board of Directors, and develop new products, benefits and services to meet goals.
- Lead enterprise team in the implementation of new membership affiliation model.
- Facilitate the alignment of APhA programs, products and services with the new membership vision and plan.
- Lead the alignment of strategic business objectives and operations with the Association’s new affiliation and engagement initiatives, making recommendations for policy and operational changes to improve the overall member experience.
- Develop action plan to identify and manage membership-related governance, political, and business challenges.
- Develop strategies and oversee operational support for membership groups and communities, both online and off, creating processes, protocols, systems and success measures to ensure outcomes align with both individual and community preferences.
- Lead centralization of Association-wide marketing, communications and membership functions.
- Develop a corporate marketing and communications strategy that is focused on improving performance and revenue growth across all business lines, effective communication to members, external stakeholders and the public, and increasing membership growth and engagement.
- Ensure the consistency of branding and messaging across all organization functions and business lines.
- Develop and write content for a wide variety of communications vehicles.
- Ensure that the association's AMS and overall digital presence aligns with and supports the Association’s affiliation and engagement vision.
- Develop an annual public relations and external communication action plan to keep full range of stakeholder groups and constituencies informed of new developments, educated and engaged with APhA.
- Represent APhA to high priority coalitions and partnerships.
- Manage and develop a team of 17 staff in the Membership, Marketing, and Student & New Practitioner Development departments.
- Develop budget for membership, marketing and communications, ensuring revenue goals are achieved and operations carried out within budget parameters.
