A dynamic growing nonprofit professional membership association in Park Ridge, Illinois is seeking an experienced Instructional Design Specialist who will work alongside our education managers and subject matter experts to lead in the analysis, design, and development of new face-to-face and virtually delivered instructor-led training (ILT) courses, certificate programs, certification-prep courses and the revision/maintenance of existing ASSE-owned courses for safety professionals.
Develop new courses to determine the target audience, assess the needs, determine learning objectives, design content and assessments, structure learning activities, and create instructional materials.
Revise existing courses this role may develop assessments or other measures of learning comprehension and will revise existing course structure and content to be more activity based.
Work closely with the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure that all learning solutions are built on sound adult learning principals and meet all regulatory and legal requirements.
Create and maintain project plans for the analysis, design, development, implementation of pilot/train-the-trainer, evaluation and maintenance of blended learning solutions.
Work with the LMS Coordinator to load content on the Learning Management System (LMS).
Pull and analyze evaluation reports from the LMS to make decisions around maintenance of blended learning solutions.
Develop train-the-trainers for facilitator led or virtual learning that is either in-person or virtual.
Bachelor’s degree in adult learning, instructional design or related area or equivalent experience is required.
3-5 years of instructional design experience of blended learning solutions.
Interest in the implementation of innovative, creative course delivery methods
Must have strong communication and influencing skills and be willing to partner with volunteer subject matter experts and facilitators to produce instructionally sound blended learning solutions.
A proven track record of working in adult learning.
Experience working in an association setting is highly preferred.
Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
Interact professionally with ASSE staff, member volunteers, and subject matter experts.
Work independently while understanding the necessity of communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
Knowledge of and experience developing facilitator guides and participant workbooks in LeaderGuide Pro is a plus.
Knowledge of and experience developing online learning in BranchTrack, GoAnimate, Audacity, or similar tools is a plus.
Comfortable delivering virtual classes or webinars.
Experience with the Learning Management System, Top Class, is a plus.
Ability to work in the Windows environment with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Ability to work M-F during normal business hours.
Ability to travel to meetings and/or annual conference.
