The Communications Coordinator plays a major role in the execution of essential communications responsibilities and is valued member of the Communications and Marketing team. The coordinator supports the department’s initiatives and activities to advance CTAM’s mission and strategic goals. The ideal candidate has minimum of three years of communications experience, is tech savvy, a creative thinker, and an organized and proactive self-motivator.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Develop plans and pitch stories; draft, distribute and monitor press communications
Manage all pre-tour and onsite press-related activities for bi-annual press critics tour, including credentialing and registration
Act as CTAM’s social media expert
Create and align content across platforms, monitor daily postings and interactions, set and reach engagement goals, and share quarterly reports
Support member communications efforts by drafting, editing, distributing and monitoring member reports, surveys and meeting recaps
Liaise with CTAM.com site coordinator to ensure content is correct and up-to-date
The coordinator must have a strong understanding of the varied requirements of communications, press relations, social and digital media, and member-marketing functions, with strong writing, editing and verbal skills.
This person must also demonstrate an aptitude for tactical planning, attention to detail, juggling multiple priorities, acting thoughtfully, and maintaining graciousness under pressure.
The coordinator should be comfortable working in a small, member-driven, highly-collaborative environment. Also desired is the confidence to share ideas and take risks, and a fundamental appreciation of feedback from colleagues.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field Minimum of three years of experience in business communications, including web and social Excellent business writing, editing and proofing skills
Organized and resourceful
Comfortable working on teams and taking on extra work when needed
Fundamental understanding of how to use AP and other style guidelines
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office software
Ability to use database and communications distribution software systems
Additional Salary Information: Salary is commensurate with experience. We are looking for someone with three to five years of experience in the area of business communications.
