Who we are looking for:
The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) has an exciting opportunity for a highly-motivated Associate Director, Member Engagement and Analysis to join our fast-paced Member Services Department. The selected candidate will oversee and lead the direction of the membership induction and business plans; ASCO’s member engagement/recognition program; and provide in-depth statistical data, reporting, and strategic analysis on membership to support the goals of the department and Society. What you will do:
Collaborate across departments to ensure the member value of ASCO programs, products, and services are accurately represented within the membership value proposition
Develop and manage membership dues revenue and expense budgets
Provide strategic membership data analysis, statistical reporting, metrics, and current and future trends on a weekly/monthly/annual basis
Create thorough, in-depth reports and materials that outline accurate and reliable membership data for various internal and external audiences
Develop, implement, and direct the ongoing maintenance of the Membership Engagement program; work collaboratively with programmatic and technical support teams to ensure a quality member engagement experience
Oversee the new member applications and induction processes, while continually monitoring the business rules to ensure best business practices are met and maintained
Support the Membership Committee in oversight of application review processes, guidelines/definitions for member categories, and engagement initiatives that further the direction and goals of the Committee’s work
Lead direct reports and provide ongoing professional mentoring; act as a knowledgeable resource for new and current department staff
Attend Member Exhibits, the Annual Meeting, and other events and meetings on a regular basis for in-person recruiting and retention efforts as well as department support with member inquiries, procedure updates, and training
What you will need in order to be successful:
7 plus years of experience working with associations with a focus on member services and engagement
A bachelor's degree
An understanding of membership recruitment and retention in the association world; and familiarity with membership life cycles, dues structures, and dues models
In-depth experience with reviewing and analyzing membership reports and statistics; a comfort level with preparing detailed spreadsheets and creating high-quality PowerPoint presentations
Hands-on experience working with an Association Management System (AMS) or Customer Relationship Management system (CRM); knowledge of Higher Logic and Structured Query Language (SQL) is a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills; familiarity working with online tools; and an openness to embracing new technology
Superior communication skills including oral, listening and written, including the ability to compose summary reports
At least 3 years of supervisory experience, including: managing, mentoring, and developing staff
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and to complete a high volume of work and meet deadlines with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Superb analytical skills and ability to think things through, anticipate solutions and next steps, and see the bigger picture, while offering fresh ideas
