The Research Project Manager works as part of a team to support various research activities and research department administrative functions. This position is responsible for:
1) assisting in all phases of market and industry research activities by project management expertise, administrative and logistical support;
2) participating in the advising of execution of research, including qualitative and quantitative methodologies;
3) serving as the point of contact to respond to member and staff inquiries about the research department; and
4) coordinating research volunteer activities.

Plan, coordinate, and lead multiple, complex research project(s) using project management practices, tools, techniques, and frameworks to manage and control the research and project timelines throughout their lifecycles.
For assigned projects, serve as the primary point of contact for internal ASAE Foundation principle investigators and research partners, vendors, and ASAE staff and volunteers external to ASAE.
Ensure delivery of research project(s) on time and within budget, quality, and scope definitions as defined by the Senior Director of Research and the Chief Research Officer of the ASAE Foundation. Proactively manage scope changes to minimize risk to project research budget and schedule. Influence scope change decisions and manages expectations on release dates with all stakeholders.
Manage recruitment, scheduling, and confirmations of qualitative research participants.
Coordinate logistics, serve as recorder, and prepare minutes for conference calls and committee meetings.
Conduct cursory literature searches on select topics related to association management and research study concepts.
Respond to/direct inquiries and requests for information from members of the ASAE community for research-related resources, including fulfilling requests from academic scholars for access to datasets.
Demonstrated ability to be effective in oral and written communication.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, and co-workers
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
Ability to maintain a positive and customer service orientation at all times
Demonstrated ability to use computer technology (e.g., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and experience working SQL-based databases.
Familiarity with website programming (HTML, CSS, etc.).
Required Education and Experience
Four-year college degree (e.g., B.S. /B.A.)
One – two years of research project management or project management experience
Preferred Education and Experience
Four-year college degree (e.g., B.S. /B.A.) with concentration in project management, administration, research, or business intelligence preferred.
Master’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.
Current certification in relevant area of expertise (e.g., CAE, PMP, CRA)
Previous work experience in an association environment
Experience with statistical software highly desirable
Additional Salary Information: EOE. Salary is commensurate with experience.
