The American Thyroid Association (ATA) headquartered in Northern Virginia, is a mission driven 501 c3 non-profit professional medical society. The small staff environment requires a person who is flexible, able to prioritize, work independently yet, cooperatively and professionally as a part of a small core team.
The Membership, Development and Technology Specialist supports routine and project-driven membership, development and technology tasks and initiatives. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support and grow with the organization. Role and responsibilities include the following and are subject to cultivation and variation as the organization mission and goals progress:
Broad Experience with Member and Association Management Databases, including:
Facility with generating reports
Batch entry of dues and contributions
Organizing committee members
Multiple module updates and utilization
Staff liaison to selected Committees
Social Media: Extensive experience with – Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Monthly newsletter to Members with “what you need to know”
Donor acknowledgements and recognition.
Tracking and researching fundraising campaigns
Front Desk Administration
Ability to respond to members, patients, public requests and route them to appropriate staff
Various office management duties
Professional Development: The ATA expects staff to be active in professional societies related to their careers and supports member dues, professional meetings and coursework related to their job description.

iMIS database experience with a strong affinity for database processes, data integrity, reporting experience in IMIS, Access, Crystal Reports, SSRS is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Informz and Survey Monkey.
3+ years’ experience in an association environment; medical society experience a plus.
Strong organizational, administrative, customer service, interpersonal, and project management skills.
Positive and enthusiastic attitude. Superior work ethic and flexibility.
