This position reports to the SIOR Director of Communications and assists with a variety of marketing and communications functions for the organization, both internally and externally. SIOR Report Magazine
Serves as the managing editor, copy editor, and art designer for the SIOR Report quarterly magazine.
Works with advertisers, authors, and other staff to acquire content, verify accuracy and ensure that deadlines are met.
Works with the SIOR Report Editorial Advisory committee or subcommittee as a co-staff liaison with the Director of Communications to develop and oversee content decisions for the magazine.
Work with Director of Communication and Editorial Committee to develop new content strategies and sections to keep the magazine fresh
Writes President’s Letter and any other content as needed
Edits and proofs all content.
Formats and proofs all advertising within the magazine
Works with staff and Leadership to provide columns, including President’s Message.
Assists Director of Communications in article decisions and development of editorial calendar and content
Monitors all social media networks and industry trends throughout each day and provides analysis and improvements for online presences; develops recommendations for responses.
Plans and produces appropriate responses, posts, retweets and disseminates, both for scheduled and unscheduled posts (with the direction of the Communications Director).
Maintains a comprehensive analytics and metrics report for all social media sites. Provides analysis and suggested improvements.
Implements and maintains a comprehensive listening program.
Facilitates stakeholder usage of online tools and monitors contributors to all SIOR websites and digital presences.
Works with appropriate staff and Director of Communications to produce blog posts for the website.
Develops new social media campaigns to meet organization’s goals and strategic objectives.
Develops conference tweet schedule.
Assists with collection of advertising orders, invoices, and artwork for SIOR Report
Assists with promotion of advertising opportunities and advertising sales for SIOR Report
Completes and processes invoices and payments for SIOR Report
Assists as needed with digital advertising, particularly micro targeting and analytics, tying in analytics with social media and website reporting.
Communicates to staff for acquiring content.
Drafts monthly newsletter, developing content and placing content on website to archive.
Disseminates content (upon approval of Communications Director) and manages all bounce backs and reports.
Manages blog editorial calendar
Edits and publishes blog posts on a regular basis
Reviews and analyzes any comments and notifies authors to respond
Reviews and analyzes analytics and work on improving content and trends
Assists with content development and editing of text content to all sections of SIOR site.
Assists in posting regular website updates, which may include some design work.
Provides website analytic reports and provides analysis and suggested improvements.
Prepares expanded Cooperative Transactions for Website.
Updates and maintains archived press release and SIOR Report articles.
Writes press releases as needed for the organization.
Assists, as needed, in developing President’s talking points, speeches, and PowerPoint slides for delivery at SIOR Conferences and industry events.
Assists, as needed, in producing miscellaneous organizational communications for industry events and/or publications.
Assures accuracy of published materials, including correct spelling and grammar.
General proofing for other staff as needed.
Provides graphic design support as needed for web and print communications.
Creates communication and marketing materials such as fliers and brochures as needed.
Other communications projects as needed.
Proofs and send e-mails to all constituent segments, manages communications schedule.
SIOR Commercial Real Estate Index: Conducts quarterly survey for SIOR Commercial Real Estate Index, sending regional reminders to under participating regions.
Composes press releases; edits articles written by NAR economist for magazine.
Provides general support when needed and available to other programs.
Educational Requirements and Experience
Undergraduate degree, B.A. in Communications, Digital Media, Social Media, or equivalent work experience in digital communications.
Minimum of 3 years in similar communication roles and minimum of 1 year social media management experience. Must have graphic design experience and be proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Must have graphic design experience with Adobe Software products.
Writing and editing experience also preferred.
Experience designing both print and digital communication materials.
Experience developing, organizing and assisting with executing a social media communications program.
Experience effectively using social media and online communications tools.
Specific Skills and Abilities
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat, InDesign, PhotoShop Illustrator, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), PC Platforms, and HTML Graphic design experience preferred.
Work in Atif or similar AMS preferred.
Excellent written, and oral and interpersonal communications skills required.
Accuracy and strong attention to detail. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize tasks and have a pro-active approach to task completion.
Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced office environment.
Organizational skills, time management, interpreting data, problem solving skills, hard work ethic.
