The American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) is looking for an experienced professional to be responsible for developing, maintaining and optimizing the Association’s database and website and computer systems. The Database and Technology Manager will coordinate with third-party software and network providers, oversee the iMIS CRM and CMS and Dropbox file management system, update websites, and maintain office technology.
This is a newly created role that requires the ability to evaluate legacy systems, suggest, find and create efficient solutions to administrative and communication needs; organize and maintain the CRM database; stay up-to-date on the latest trends and products, and manage projects with time-sensitive deadlines.
AATS Director of Marketing and Communications
Duties and Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include:
Serve as the primary source for data maintenance, updates, and reports, including:
Conduct routine audits of data
Development of IQAs
Create and update automated tasks and communications
Work with all teams (Meetings, Development, Corporate/Industry, Administration) to ensure integration of system data is accurate and streamlined.
Create forms and applications for awards, membership and other submissions.
Manage projects with technology provider
Documents and maintains system processes as applications are developed, modified, and/or upgraded.
Interact with third party vendors on the implementation of software and ensure they interact with existing systems.
Manage the Association’s website domains and server needs in coordination with a third-party network team.
Oversee all infrastructure related software, including, but not limited to:
Adobe Creative Suite
Microsoft Office products and Azure Storage
Maintain office technology.
Serves as a technical resource for staff and committees.
Coordinate the purchase and maintenance of office equipment.
Provide ongoing staff training and development.
Other duties as assigned.
Maintain and update AATS-related websites.
Implements and maintains all technologies, programs, and functionality on websites.
Coordinates content updates with internal stakeholders.
Performs website maintenance and content updates, including multimedia resources that will be uploaded with information to improve findability.
Professional Experience and Qualifications/Key Attributes
The successful candidate must have at least three years of experience in a IT role and must be able to demonstrate his/her ability to work with colleagues across a broad range of other disciplines to deliver great results.
Skills required include:
Knowledge of iMIS or similar membership database is required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively independently and with dynamic teams both internally and externally.
Internet and website management skills required, knowledge of RiSE website content management system a plus.
Understanding of multimedia technologies.
Knowledge of file management systems required, experience with Dropbox Business a plus.
Basic SQL and SSRS experience and knowledge of HTML and Java Script a plus.
A Bachelor’s degree in business, technology or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
A minimum of three years experience in database management.
Experience in medical or health care association management is preferred.
