Summary/Objective This position will have daily oversight of planning, scheduling, and execution of SGA programs associated with training, learning, and engagement of member organizations and other industry participants in distance and in-person activities. In addition, this position will work with SGA leadership for the development of new programs to advance our industry as workforce changes occur.
The candidate chosen will work closely with little supervisory oversight to promote member engagement and manage in-person and virtual events and programs. Ideal candidate would be willing to take on additional responsibilities as appropriate with the intention of developing the individual for both personal growth and advancing the association.
This person must be proficient in computer software applications (outlined below), open to travel to SGA and other industry related events. This person must have a professional demeanor with an advanced ability to work well independently. The successful candidate must have a strong servant attitude and customer service orientation. Applicant must have demonstrated the ability to successfully plan, organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Successful applicant will have work history that demonstrates initiative, solution orientation, resourcefulness, project management and problem-solving skills with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership and the ability to accept and act upon feedback. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with member company volunteers on various task forces and committee groups at many levels from front line employees to senior level management. The ability to interact effectively with these multiple levels of member company employees is critical to success in this position.
Essential Functions ?Administrative: •Budget development and management of overall programs and individual offered classes and events •Ensure that SGA’s long range strategic vision is being met through the delivery of training and education programs •Assist SGA employees in finding adequate training opportunities to meet their personal and career development needs for the organization •Develop strategic alliances with partner industry trade associations to leverage external information in to SGA programs and events •Seek and maintain a level of knowledge about current activities and trends within the natural gas and full energy industry (i.e. regulatory, technology, member needs, etc.) •Explore opportunities for development of programs based on individual research, feedback from member company volunteers, and internal strategic discussions •Occasionally represent SGA in offering presentations to others on current programs and opportunities for advancement in the training and education space for the natural gas industry •Understand generational differences in learning and communication methods to adapt current programs and in new programs to ensure SGA is up to date on upcoming trends ?Training & Education: •Have an understanding of training needs for the full breadth of employees within the industry (front line operations, front line supervisors and managers, middle management, executive leadership, and professional degreed individuals) •Design and deliver needed content to the appropriate platform (web-based courses, instructor in-class session, etc.) •Manage professional development program including overall structure, assignment of continuing education credits, and quality assurance of program components •Collaborate with internal staff and SGA committee volunteers to determine needed content to develop in to needed training programs •Ensure industry accepted evaluation models (i.e. Kirkpatrick Model) are fully implemented and utilized in delivered training and education programs •Ensure the best delivery method is selected for needed content based on the audience for such content •Develop facilitator and instructor training program for SGA third party instructors ?Project Management: •Effective overall management of multiple active projects •Budget management of associated projects to find opportunities as well as adjustments to ongoing projects to meet budgetary requirements •Effective communication to all impacted and related parties for active and planned projects with both internal and external customers ?Technology (Website, Association Management System, and Learning Management System): •Utilize association management system reports to advance the vision and mission of SGA and its member organizations •Provide oversight and leadership for basic webpage updates for event information •Overall administration of learning management system (LMS) including, but not limited to: oAssist with training and sharing activities with various internal staff to better understand member practices associated within the LMS oAnalyzing trends of individual courses and full programs to understand changes in strategic direction potentially needed for SGA •Assist in decisions needed to shift to different technology platforms based on technology advancements and strategic organization direction changes

Required Education and Experience •Bachelor’s degree in education, communication, engineering, management, or related field with experience in adult education •Excellent technical skills are required to include the Microsoft® Office suite with proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word •Requires strong oral and written communications skills •Understanding of adult learning principles, learning competencies, and education program development •Advanced ability to work independently •Excellent telephone etiquette skills
Preferred Education and Experience •5+ years of managerial experience with 2+ years of experience in project management and education program development •Excellent technical skills in the Microsoft® Office suite with proficiency in PowerPoint and Access •Development and overall management of Learning Management Systems •Basic database query writing skillset for custom reports and data analytic needs •Advanced instructional design understanding and adult learning training principles and related needed competency skillset needs with training programs •Understanding of development and management of large industry-accepted accreditation programs •Technically savvy to be open to learn new software applications and processes •Background in energy industry – specifically natural gas
