The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) seeks an Exhibit and Sponsorship Sales Manager to expand and manage exhibit hall sales, sponsorship sales, and advertising for its 2-3 scientific meetings each year, at locations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. This key position is responsible for: selling exhibit space, sponsorship opportunities, and advertisements; identifying and pursuing new sales prospects; creating and developing new sponsorships. She/he will also develop and implement strategies to grow these programs. The Exhibit and Sponsorship Sales Manager interacts with all members of the ISSCR staff.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Initiate and execute exhibit, sponsorship, and advertising sales;
Develop budgets related to exhibits, sponsorship, and advertising sales and promotions;
Identify and pursue sales leads with companies that work in and support stem cell science, including pharmaceutical companies, laboratory equipment suppliers, biotech companies, academic institutions, and others;
Develop new revenue-generating opportunities to increase exhibit and sponsor involvement at meetings and within the ISSCR;
Work with newly evolving companies in the stem cell industry to identify and develop branding and other opportunities with the ISSCR;
Identify and develop new features within the exhibit hall to increase traffic and interest in the hall as a key assembly area for meeting attendees and the largest global market place specific to the stem cell science community;
Develop and implement exhibit and sponsorship sales strategy to meet annual revenue goals for the ISSCR, including a structured strategy with promotions, on-site sales, and other outreach;
Manage exhibit/sponsorship sales performance reports and sales database;
Collaborate with the marketing department to develop marketing, advertising, and promotional materials to include Exhibit and Sponsorship Prospectus;
Develop and distribute promotional exhibitor services manual, and support related exhibitor and sponsor activities;
Coordinate communications about the ISSCR exhibition and sponsorship programs via print and digital formats for distribution at ISSCR meetings;
Coordinate the processing of exhibit and sponsor contracts and invoices;
Serve as the primary liaison to exhibit services vendors;
Keep abreast of current events and trends within the scientific, exhibits, and sponsorships communities, and identify and create new sales opportunities.
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university;
4-6 years of professional experience with a minimum of 3 years in a comparable exhibits/sponsorships sales position;
Demonstrated ability to maintain and grow sales volumes and identify new sales opportunities;
Experience with planning meetings or working with an international member base is a plus, as is a sensitivity to and awareness of international business culture and practices.
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required, along with proficiency in email marketing platforms. Experience in non-profit association environment desirable; global scientific and/or medical exhibits sales experience a plus. Experience with iMIS or similar membership database system and CRM software a plus.
