Report directly to Senior VP of Government Affairs
NSSGA seeks a qualified individual to direct the activities of its robust Political Action Committee. The candidate should have fundraising, campaign, trade association, and/or Hill experience and understand the political fundraising landscape. The individual should comprehend the importance of compliance and meeting deadlines related to the filing of reports. Being able to work with candidates and professionals from both parties is a firm must. The right person for this position will demonstrate creativity and enthusiasm for the work. This is a position with a lot of potential and lots of room to grow.
A good sense of humor and positive attitude, willingness to take direction from the Association Sr. Directors, Sr. VP and President;
Ability and desire to raise funds as well as advise members/staff how PAC funds should be spent;
Ability to advise on political races across the country;
Willingness to travel and attend social functions;
Ability to plan at minimum two large PAC events with PAC Trustees; and
Legislative management assignments from time to time.
Other duties as assigned.
College degree required.
Technical skills: Vocus or other database management experience preferred. Strong writer desired.
Experience: 5+ years in politics preferred.
