SmithBucklin, a 100 percent employee-owned association management company, is looking for an experienced Membership Coordinator to join our team in Washington, DC. This role, which will support one nonprofit client within the healthcare and scientific space, offers a great opportunity to take on a wide range of responsibility, to include membership retention and recruitment, meeting coordination, marketing communications and basic financial analysis.
The Healthcare & Scientific Unit offers unmatched association expertise and specific knowledge of the issues, challenges and actions distinctive to the changing healthcare environment. From membership association, volunteer leadership, and financial management, to planning and implementation of continuing education activities for medical professionals, our association professionals bring extensive experience and considerable knowledge of the issues unique to healthcare-related associations.
What You Will Do
You will take ownership of all things membership, to include recruitment, retention, renewals, communications and reporting
You will both assist and lead preparation for various conferences, board meetings and courses throughout the year, to include registration, managing attendee inquiries and handling moderate logistical responsibilities
You will coordinate marketing content for client email campaigns, the website and print material
With the executive director and manager, you will review monthly financial statements and participate in the development of the annual budget, monthly financial forecasting and annual audit activities

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
3-5 years relevant professional experience
Experience in a nonprofit and/or association environment
Previous experience in budget management and forecasting
Practical agency or nonprofit experience
Database management experience
Proficiency with basic computer programming, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
