The American Hospital Association (AHA) has retained Witt/Kieffer to aid in the recruitment of its Region 6, Regional Executive.
The AHA is a national organization and leading voice on national healthcare issues that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. More than 5,000 hospitals, health care systems, networks, other providers of care and 37,000 individual members come together to form the AHA.
Reporting to the Vice President, Member Engagement, the Region 6, Regional Executive scope includes Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. He/she will represent the AHA and serve as the lead contact in the region to ensure member Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) understand and receive the value of AHA membership. As members rely upon AHA for exceptional advocacy, the Regional Executive will be expected to facilitate an effective advocacy network for AHA's federal relations agenda in his/her specific geographic area. The ability to become a trusted and respected partner with members, alliance partners and key constituents will be essential. A key responsibility will include being an effective lead contact with state hospital association CEOs in the region to promote membership value for an effective grassroots advocacy with state associations and the AHA. This includes participating in and presenting at state hospital association board meetings, annual meetings, and other state hospital association meetings.
Candidates should have a minimum of 7-10 years leadership experience and prior experience in healthcare and/or health care associations is also preferred. A combination of advocacy and member relations experience is ideal. A Masters degree in business administration or a related field is highly preferred.
