Fast paced scientific association in Old Town, Alexandria, VA, seeks a Education and Meetings Coordinator who will work as part of the Education Team in the planning, recruitment, development, execution and evaluation of education, abstracts and speakers at the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT) Annual Meeting and other educational offerings.
Key responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Education and Meetings, provide support for ASCPT education and meeting activities as directed;
Manage the awards nomination and selection process; primary staff liaison to the Scientific Awards Nominations Task Force and Scientific Awards Selection Task Force
Manage the abstract and session proposal process, including all facets from promotional activities, to and including submission, review, coordinating with relevant staff working on the abstract supplement, onsite management of posters and authors;
Coordinate and manage student/trainee Annual Meeting-related activities prior to and onsite at the Annual Meeting;
Assist in speaker coordination and logistics including: production of and ongoing monitoring of event forms, handle speaker communication and requests; create and maintain speaker files;
Coordinate and assist Meetings Department with all speaker arrangements;
Secondary staff liaison to the Scientific Program Committee
*Please note that continuing education and meeting planning (logistics) are not applicable to this position.
We are looking for an experienced individual who complements our existing team, brings new ideas, skills, and a can do attitude. Experience in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines is critical.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years scientific/medical association experience. Experience with abstract management systems preferred. Advanced skills in all Microsoft Office products, strong communication skills, along with the willingness to pitch in and support others, as needed, are essential.
